Q: What is NyloSheet made of?
A: NyloSheet combines recycled carpet fibers with VOC-Free resins and proprietary
structural components to produce The state-of-the-art composite sheet and sheathing.
No Wood. No PVC. No Worries.

Q: Does NyloSheet contain any wood, cellulose, or plant fibers?
A: NO, NyloSheet doesn’t contain any plant based fiber which can often lead to issues with moisture, mildew, mold, termites, stains, and swelling.

Q: Does Nyloboard use formaldehyde during the manufacturing process?
A: NO, there is no formaldehyde added during the manufacturing process.

Q: Does NyloSheet contain any PVC?
A: NO, NyloSheet doesn’t contain PVC and is made using recycled carpet fiber so not only is it durable and lightweight it’s also green.

Q: Why is NyloSheet considered to be environmentally friendly?
A: It is part of Nyloboard’s mission to help stop the waste stream of carpet fiber that
currently contributes billions of pounds to landfills each year and use it to create
superior products. In fact, NyloDeck which is also made from Nyloboard was selected
as one of the top 10 Green Building Products of 2010 by Building Green.

Q: Can NyloSheet contribute towards points for LEED rating systems?
A: YES, it can contribute towards points for Environmentally Preferable Products in the
areas of recycled content and locally harvested materials.

Q: Will it absorb water?
A: NO, NyloSheet is impervious to moisture. NyloSheet has been subjected to the rigors of the marine environment for years. Due to its strength, imperviousness to water, and screw retention it has been used in transoms, hulls, floors, bulkheads, and consoles by the top boat manufactures in the US and Canada.

Q: Is a vapor barrier needed with NyloSheet?
A: NO, in wall sheathing applications NyloSheet is approved without the use of any
additional vapor barrier. Please see CCRR 0133 in the NyloSheet specification section
of our website.

Q: Will water damage the material?
A: NO, since NyloSheet is impervious to moisture so there are no concerns with swelling or rot.

Q: Will it grow mold or mildew?
A: NO, there is no wood or plant fiber to promote the growth of mold and mildew.

Q: Will termites damage NyloSheet?
A: NO, since NyloSheet does not contain any wood or plant fiber there is nothing for
termites to eat.

Q: What are the applications for NyloSheet?
A: NyloSheet is used in a wide array of applications. It is used extensively in the marine
industry by boat manufacturers. It used in the transportation industry for truck bodies
and floors. It is also used in the sign industry for painted and sand blasted signs. In
the construction industry NyloSheet is used for garage door skins, wall sheathing, and
SIP building applications and has ICC approval CCRR 0133 as well Miami Dade NOA 11-0907.02.

Q: Does NyloSheet come in different colors?
A: NO, but NyloSheet can be painted or stained.

Q: How can I paint NyloSheet?
A: NyloSheet can be painted in a broad spectrum of colors as well as stained. Companies such as Sherwin Williams have tested their products on NyloSheet. Please see S.W. lifetime warranty in the installation section of the NyloSheet webpage.

Q: Does NyloSheet expand in the heat of the summer or contract in the
cold of winter?
A: Like all composite building materials NyloSheet will expand and contract with heat
however, unlike wood based products it doesn’t shrink and grow due to moisture.

Q: Is NyloSheet structural?
A: YES, NyloSheet can be used in specific structural applications such as wall sheathing
and Structural Insulated Panel’s. Please see CCRR 0133 and Miami Dade NOA 11-
0907.02
in the NyloSheet specification section on our website.

Q: Are there any special tools required?
A: NO, NyloSheet can be sawn, routed, drilled, or nailed using conventional wood-working tools.

Q: Can I use a router on NyloSheet?
A: YES, you can router NyloSheet for nonstructural applications.

Q: Can NyloSheet be glued?
A: YES, it can be glued with Gorilla Glue or similar products. Since NyloSheet is impervious and contains no moisture you must lightly mist the glue after it is applied to the board to ensure a strong mechanical bond.
